Soto Betawi (Coconut Milk + Milk) - Oriental Foods Recipes
Soto Betawi is one of the typical foods from Indonesia, more precisely from the Betawi tribe of West Java Indonesia.Materials for making Soto Betawi:
- 500 grams of beef, cut into small pieces
- 1500 ml of boiled water
- 100 ml of instant coconut milk (I use kara)
- 500 ml of plain milk (uht ultra full cream)
- 1 lemongrass
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 orange leaf
- 2 cm galangal, geprek
- 1/2 tbsp cilantro powder
- 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
- Sufficient salt and sugar
- Ground spices :
- 8 onion cloves
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 candlenut
- 1 cm ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Complementary:
- French fries
- Emping
- diced Tomatoes,
- Leek
- Fried onions
- Sambals
How To Cooking Soto Betawi Oriental Foods |
Step To Make Soto Betawi
- Boil beef with enough water until the meat is submerged. Wait until the water boils, remove the water, wash the meat again, drain.
- Melt the instant coconut milk with water in a saucepan, add the meat. Turn on the fire, cook while stirring occasionally so that the coconut milk doesn't break.
- Saute the spices with lime leaves, salam, lemongrass, galangal, pepper and coriander until cooked, put in a stew of meat, add salt and sugar, stir until boiling.
- Add milk, stir again. Cook over low heat until the meat is tender and the spices soak (about 2 hours with an ordinary pan)
Serving: put tomatoes and french fries in a bowl, pour the soto sauce along with the meat, sprinkle onions and fried onions, then give the chips according to taste. Serve it
