The ingredient that I use this time is using fresh squid and the new green petai taken from the garden is definitely delicious.


Cooking Squid Pete ingredients

  • 250 grams of fresh squid
  • 1 petai board
  • 7 onion cloves
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 12 bh demon chili
  • 3 pcs of large green chillies
  • 1/2 bh tomato
  • 1 cup of bay leaf
  • 1 cup lemongrass
  • 3 orange leaves
  • 1 segment of galangal
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt, sugar, powder broth

Steps to Cook the Squid Pete


20 minutes

  • Slice all ingredients. Cut small squid or to taste. Split petai.
  • Heat cooking oil, saute onion and garlic until fragrant. Then put the chillies, galangal, lemongrass, bay leaves and orange leaves until wilted.
  • Add tomatoes and petai, use low heat so it doesn't burn quickly.
  • Add the calamari and then season with oyster sauce, sugar, salt and powder stock, stir until smooth and soaked.
  • Cook until the seasoning is absorbed and the sauce is reduced or according to taste you want it to be wet or dry.


Pete squid is ready to be served with hot rice
